Dr. Johns graduated from the School of Medicine at Duke University, is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and does everything from obstetrics to end-of-life care. Additionally, Dr. Johns works as a software engineer developing and maintaining applications for the Duke Health System, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, North Carolina Medicaid Services and CCRi. His doctorate is in Medicine, but he also has degrees in Chemical Engineering (UMCP) and Computer / Information Science (UNC). Dr. Johns trained at the National Institute of Health’s Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, as well as Duke Medicine’s Informatics Division. He completed his residency at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Shenandoah Valley Family Practice Program. His special interests are sports medicine, cycling, computer-aided design for 3D printing, and clinical decision support.
