Alan Krigstein recently retired as the Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, and Treasurer of Independence Blue Cross, Inc. Mr. Krigstein also recently retired as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Keystone Mercy, and worked closely with the Departments of Insurance, Departments of Public Welfare, and State Regulators for each line of business to ensure the best value for each State's funding for Medicaid. Mr. Krigstein was also responsible for the partnership relationships for the Keystone Mercy-affiliated plans: AmeriHealth Mercy Health Plan in Harrisburg, PA; Horizon NJ Health in New Jersey; and Gateway Health Plan in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a key member of the new business development and expansion opportunities for Keystone Mercy, with responsibility for financial management oversight. He served as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Finance, and Treasurer of AmeriHealth Caritas (alternative name The AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies), including its sister organization Keystone First, Inc. (alternative name Keystone Mercy Health Plan, Inc.). Mr. Krigstein was responsible for leading and overseeing all corporate financial functions, including accounting, statutory reporting, budgeting, cash management, strategic planning, payroll, accounts payable, actuarial services, and internal auditing, and oversees the purchasing, facilities, and security departments. In 1994, Mr. Krigstein joined Mercy Health Plan as the Vice President of Finance. Since 1999, Mr. Krigstein has guided the implementation of PeopleSoft Enterprise Planning Resource System for both the financial and human resources management systems.
Mr. Krigstein has held various financial positions in the healthcare industry, including Director of Managed Care for St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware; Director of Finance for Delaware Valley HMO; and Chief Financial Officer of Healthcare Delaware, Inc. He serves as Chairman of the Board at Highway to Health, Inc. He has been an Independent Director at InsPro Technologies Corporation since June 3, 2014. In 2001, he was nominated for the CFO Excellence Award sponsored by CFO magazine.
Mr. Krigstein earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware.
